Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

FairCost, LLC. is a cost management company that helps benefit plan administrators and their members save money on out-of-network medical claims.

FairCost QPA Assist provides benefit plan administrators with full-service support for the federal No Surprises Act (NSA) Qualifying Payment Amount (QPA) process.  We help our clients apply the QPA rate, plus we also support your requests for open negotiations, including the federal Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) process.

In 2021, the Federal government approved the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA).  The CAA includes the No Surprises Act (NSA), which protects patients from surprise billing.  A surprise bill occurs when patients receive care from an out-of-network facility or health care provider that they didn’t choose, which results in a bill that may cost more than if care was provided by an in-network facility or health care provider.

FairCost Optimizer helps benefit plan administrators manage their out-of-network, non-NSA claim costs.
